Debate winner

Bhavan’s Vidya Mandir, Giri Nagar, has won the inter-school debate for C.I. Cherian memorial ever-rolling trophy that was held at the indoor stadium of Toc H Public School recently. P.J. Joseph, president, Toc H Institutions, distributed the prize.

Eye camp

Toc H Public School, Udyogamandal, organised an eye check-up camp for school students and their parents. The camp was organised in association with Vasan Eye Care Hospital, Ernakulam. Bula Nixon, vice-president of the Alangad Block Panchayat, inaugurated the programme. S. Rajam, Principal, welcomed the gathering.

Judges visit special school

A.K. Joseph, judge of the CBI court, Ernakulam, K.N. Sateesan, judge of the Fast Track court, and P. Madhavan, Ernakulam Principal Sub Judge, interacted with students of Sneha Nilayam Special School, Kakkanad, as part of World Mental Health Week. K.R. Mohanan, president of the Ernakulam Bar Association, accompanied the judges. The students also staged variety entertainment programmes.

Scrabble competition

The Ernakulam Women’s Association will organise a scrabble championship on November 10. The aim is to kindle in school students curiosity of English language. It will enhance vocabulary skills, says Shoba Thampi, coordinator of the event.

Schools can send four students – two in each category. While juniors will be from standard VIII to X, seniors will be from Plus Two classes. Interested schools must register by November 5 and pay Rs.100 per team. For details, call 2368859 between 10.30 a.m. and 5 p.m. on working days or Ms. Thampi at 94959 76209.
