One killed, two injured in accident near Tirur

MALAPPURAM: One person was killed and two were injured when a bus hit them at Paravanna, near Tirur, on Thursday morning. The driver of the bus lost control of the vehicle after it fell into a gutter and hit three men sitting atop a pile of sand by the roadside. Chathappan, 45, of Punchappadam, Paravanna, died on the way to hospital. Haneefa and Abdulla, with whom Chathappan had been talking to, sustained serious injuries. They have been hospitalised. Local people blocked traffic on the road till evening.
