Meerut: Cash and ornaments worth lakhs of rupees were looted from a local trader’s house here on Thursday, police said. Four unidentified youth posing as income tax department sleuths came to the pickle seller’s house in his absence. They looted his family members and beat them before fleeing, SSP Jyoti Narayan said. A case under section 392 of the IPC has been registered and investigations are on, he added.
