Air Deccan unveils booking policy

Staff Correspondent

Belgaum: Air Deccan has announced its new booking and cancellation policy, with effect from October 12.

In a release here on Thursday, Ramkrishnan Sundaram, officiating Chief Executive Officer of the airline, said that the company had been receiving extensive feedback from its passengers.

Its improvement on operation time performance had led to a steady increase in corporate travellers flying with the airline. Greater ticketing flexibility had therefore become an important concern for the company, he said.

The new cancellation policy would provide greater ticketing flexibility to its passengers while retaining the advantage of affordable fares. Passengers could reschedule their ticket, i.e., modify the flight, sector, route and the date of travel with payment of a rescheduling fee and a fare difference, up to two hours prior to flight departure.

Rescheduling fee

The rescheduling fee had been slashed to Rs. 500 for a passenger for a journey, he said.

Passengers who wished to cancel their tickets would be entitled to get an open ticket issued in the name of the passenger. Its cost would be equivalent to that of the ticket after a deduction of Rs. 500.

The open ticket would be valid for 180 days from the date of its issue and can be redeemed for travel on any Air Deccan sector.

Air Deccan’s detailed cancellation policy and related terms and conditions have also been made available on the airline’s website www.airdeccan.net
