BIDAR: A tableau will represent Bidar district in “Jamboo Savari” in Mysore after a long time. The former district in-charge Minister, Bandeppa Khasempur, has taken the initiative to send a tableau from the district to Mysore after a report on non-representation of Bidar in the procession was published in The Hindu. Mr. Khasempur had discussed the issue with Deputy Commissioner Harsh Gupta. There was no representation from the district owing to lack of funds. However, now the funding has been done by the zilla panchayat and departments such as tourism. Mr. Gupta told The Hindu on Thursday that the tableau depicting of “Anubhava Mantap” of social reformer Basaveshwara at Basavkalyan would take part in the procession on Vijayadashami day. The tableau will also have pictures of places of interest in the district such as Bidar fort and Guru Nanak Jhira. Mysore Dasara had attained national fame and it would provide a platform to project the culture of Bidar through the tableau, he added. Apart, from putting Bidri ware and other products on display, publicity materials about historic places in the districts would be also distributed in Mysore, he said.
