Rohtak MP Deepinder Singh Hooda CHANDIGARH: The Member of Parliament from Rohtak, Deepender Singh Hooda, on Thursday lambasted the leaders opposing the Hansi- Butana Link Canal to be constructed at a cost of Rs.354 crores. “These leaders are not only against the interest of the farmers but also the enemies of Haryana,” he said addressing public meetings at Nindana, Giravar, Kharanti, Indergarh, Chandi and Lakhan Majra villages in Meham constituency of the Haryana Assembly. He also invited the people to participate in the Meham Chobisi Vikas Rally to be organised on October 28 at Anaj Mandi in Meham. He said Chief Minister Bhupinder Singh Hooda had assured the farmers that there would be equitable distribution of water and it was in this context that the construction of the Hansi-Butana Link Canal and Dadupur Nalvi canal was being carried out by the State Government. After the completion of the Hansi-Butana Link Canal, the flow of water from the Bhakra Dam would enable the farmers of each part of the State to get irrigation water for 20 to 25 days in a month. He ridiculed former Chief Minister Om Prakash Chautala and his sons for opposing the construction of this canal.
