KADAPA: Kadapa, the native district of Chief Minister Y.S. Rajasekhara Reddy, is bracing itself for ‘Kadapa bicentenary’, a grand gala event from December 20 to 23, on completion of 200 years of formation of the district.
Musical nite by film musician Devisri Prasad and his troupe, dance extravaganza by film dancer Lawrence and party, music programme by S.P. Balasubrahmanyam and veteran singer Yesudas will provide full-scale entertainment for four days.
Film heroes like Balakrishna, Nagarjuna, Sreekanth and Ali would make special appearances every day and dance on stage for a song each.
Film star Shobana will give a classical dance performance soon after Governor N.D. Tiwari inaugurates the celebrations, according to District Collector M.T. Krishna Babu. Young achiever Budhia will lead a bicentenary marathon from Siddhavatam fort to Kadapa, a 16-km. stretch. The bicentenary will comprise of literary and poetic programmes and discussions.
Kadapa municipal stadium will be the main venue besides Kalakshetram and other venues in Proddatur, and other towns.
