GREATER NOIDA: Shamim Khan took the first day’s honours with a bogey-free six-under 66 in the Rs. 80 lakh BILT Open golf tournament at the Jaypee Greens golf course here on Thursday. Gaurav Pratap Singh was a stroke behind, followed by Singapore’s Lam Chih Bing at 68. Shamim started from the 10th tee and straightaway found a birdie. He went on to add more on the 12th, 15th, fourth, fifth and seventh holes. In contrast, Gaurav bogeyed the third and 13th holes but birdied seven times, including thrice on the back nine. The scores: Shamim Khan 66; Gaurav Pratap Singh 67; Lam Chih-Bing (Sin) 68; Arjun Singh, Digvijay Singh, S. S. P.
