Even as Mumbai and Ahmedabad are gripped by Dandia craze, the State capital has been witnessing a low turnout for the traditional dance. The scene is not the same as it was a year ago. Revellers used to enjoy the dance with near and dear till wee hours then.
Organisers attribute this to the restrictions imposed by the police. However, with the D-day round the corner, they are keeping their fingers crossed. The fact remains that the 10.30 p.m. deadline is playing a spoilsport as the favourite time of many a Dandia enthusiast begins only after the cut-off time.
