Woman shot dead

NEW DELHI: A 30-year-old woman was shot dead by a young man at Ashok Vihar here in the early hours of Thursday.

While he managed to escape, the police have arrested one of his accomplices.

The incident took place around 3 a.m. when Geeta’s husband Suresh allegedly found her in a compromising position with Satish and two others, Vijay Pal and Gora. He overpowered Satish, but Vijay Pal and Gora fled.

They returned soon after armed with a country-made firearm and allegedly opened fire.

Geeta sustained a bullet injury and died on the spot.

The police have registered a case of murder and arrested Satish.
