e-payment system

An e-payment system was launched at the Swarna Jyothi Naval Auditorium at the Naval Base here on Thursday.

Principal Controller of Defence (Navy), Mumbai, K. Shankar inaugurated the system, which functions through National Electronic Transfer of Funds in collaboration with HDFC Bank. Flag Officer Commanding-in-Chief of the Eastern Naval Command R.P. Suthan said that faster payments would enhance the efficiency of the system of procurement of stores and prove to be mutually beneficial to both vendors and customers.
