NEW DELHI: Chief Minister Sheila Dikshit will inaugurate Dharamshila Hospital and Research Centre’s new 250-bed facility on Saturday.
To treat other associated ailments of cancer patients a separate wing with multi-speciality out patient department and 50 beds will also be inaugurated.
The multi-speciality wing will provide holistic health care for hospital staff and people living around the hospital. On Thursday, Dharamshila Hospital and Research Centre executive director S. Khanna said: “To improve the cure rates, certain steps must be followed before starting the treatment. These include complete diagnostic and staging work-up to know about the diagnosis and stage of the disease and selecting a cancer hospital that provides holistic facilities for diagnosis, radiation, surgery, chemotherapy, rehabilitation and support services.”
“It is possible to prevent 60 per cent cancer cases by adopting healthy lifestyles and it is possible to detect 60-80 per cent of cancers at an early stage, when they are curable,” he added.
