Joint Collector Kantilal Dande has asked the officials to take measures banning slaughter of animals in public places.
Addressing a district-level Welfare Body meeting at Guntur on Wednesday, he asked the officials of the animal husbandry department to take measures to set up slaughter houses on the outskirts of the city. He also directed the officials to strictly implement the ban on sale of meat every Saturday.
District Animal Husbandry joint director in charge M. Venkateswara Rao, Town DSP P. Rajendranath, Town Gosala secretary Krishnamurthy, animal welfare committee members M. Sivaramaiah, Santalal, B.V. Sivarao and others were present.
