Yakshagana fest in Bangalore

BANGALORE: Kala Spandana, an association engaged in promoting art, literature and other fields, has proposed to hold a week-long Yakshagana festival titled “Chinnara Yakshasaptami” in various parts of the city from Friday.

President of Kala Spandana K. Ramesh Kamath said that 20 budding artistes, aged below 14 years, from Sri Balamitra Yakshagana Kala Mandali, Saralebettu, Manipal, will perform three Yakshagana prasangas.

He said “Chakravyuha” will be performed at Kannada Bhavan on Friday and at Suvarnotsava Maindan on Vidyaranyapura Main Road on October 22, “Haribhakta Sudhanva” will be staged on October 20 at Kengeri Bus Stand and near K.R. Puram bus stand on October 23.

“Veera Vrushasena” will be performed on October 21 at Sri Munichinnappa Model Primary School, Adugodi, and at Jayanagar 4th Block on October 24.

The valedictorywill be held on October 25.
