NEW DELHI: India and Pakistan on Thursday reiterated their commitment to uphold the ceasefire and held consultations to strengthen the confidence-building measures (CBMs). The talks here comprised the fourth round of expert-level dialogue on conventional CBMs. The Indian delegation was led by T.C.A. Raghavan, Joint Secretary in the Ministry of External Affairs, while Aizaz Ahmad Choudhary, Director-General (South Asia), Ministry of Foreign Affairs, led the Pakistan team. A joint statement issued later by the Ministry said the discussions were held in a cordial and constructive atmosphere. “As mandated by the respective Foreign Secretaries, the two sides reviewed the implementation of the existing CBMs. They also agreed to report the progress made in the present round of talks to their respective Foreign Secretaries,” it said. Joint Working Group meeting on October 22The two sides are also scheduled to hold a meeting of the Joint Working Group against terror here on October 22. The meeting assumes significance in the wake of the recent terrorist attacks in Hyderabad, Ajmer and Ludhiana.
