MUMBAI: Vijay Merchant XI’s last-wicket pair of left-hander Sunil Chavria (57, 3x4, 1x6) and Ashay Palkar (43 not out, 2x4) put on 117 runs in 232 balls to stretch the team’s total to 261 in the first innings after being put in by Dattu Phadkar XI on day one of the 22nd Sportstar Trophy under-19 MCA selection trial cricket tournament.
The scores: Vijay Manjrekar XI 158 in 73.5 overs (Rahul Lad 51, Vinit Dhulap 31, Ankit Mithawala five for 23) vs. Khandu Rangnekar XI 35 for two in nine overs.
