BERHAMPUR: A special function was organised at Kavisuryanagar in Ganjam district on Friday to welcome nine pilgrims, who were initially wrongly reported to have died in the accident in Uttarakhand that killed 45 pilgrims on Oct 11. The function was held at the local Notified Area Council (NAC) Hall. MLA of Kavisuryanagar Ladukishore Swain felicitated Tatini Kar, Sanjay Kar, Subash Tripathy, Prabhasini Tripathy, Harihar Brahma, Nalini Brahma, Satrughna Nayak and Droupadi Nayak who had returned back from Uttarakhand. Luck had saved these pilgrims. They had preferred not to travel in the ill-fated bus due to rush and had hired another vehicle at the last moment. And this move had saved them. Vice-chairperson of the NAC Manoranjan Mohapatra said these persons had received a new lease of life due to grace of the god.
