SATTUR: Three different cases have been registered, one against the Sub-Inspector of Sattur Town police station T. Santosh Kumar, who arrested a few persons for allegedly assaulting a State-run bus driver, R. Paulraj, here on Friday.
The police said the bus while overtaking a lorry had damaged a rear-view mirror on Thursday.
Later, the bus was intercepted and its driver was assaulted.
The police picked up five of the 10 persons.
A local functionary of the Puthiya Tamilagam, S. Kalaiselvan, went to the police station and picked a quarrel with the Sub-Inspector.
The SI registered a case against the functionary for preventing him from discharging his duty and threatening him.
Kalaiselvan filed a case against the SI under the SC/ST (Prevention of Atrocities) Act. He is admitted to the Government Hospital here.
