Malayath gets Fantasia Award

MALAPPURAM: Senior magician R.K. Malayath has won the maiden Fantasia Award instituted by the Indian Magic Academy in honour of renowned illusionist K. Bhagyanath. The award consisting of Rs. 15,000, a statuette and a citation will be given away at a function to be held in Chennai on October 28.

Shoranur Ravi, secretary of Chennai-based Indian Magic Academy, said that Mr. Malayath was chosen for the maiden award considering his “seminal contribution in popularising modern magic in the country”.

Currently chairman of the Nilambur-based Malayath Magical Entertainers, R.K. Malayath has been practising magic for over four decades.
