POLLACHI: A leading software firm, Keane Inc of the Unites States of America has recognised Dr. Mahalingam College of Engineering and Technology (MCET) as its platinum partner for campus recruitment and academic relationship.
Keane has recently acquired Caritor and has development centres in Chennai, Bangalore, Hyderabad and Gurgoan in India.
According to its senior vice-president Rajasekharan, Keane has recognised 250 engineering colleges in the country. A total of 30 colleges have been accorded as platinum partners while the remaining classified as gold and silver partners.
Certificate
The certificate recognising MCET as its platinum partner status was handed over to C. Ramaswamy, secretary of MCET, by Mr. Rajasekharan at a function here recently.
Explaining job opportunities in the information technology industry, Mr. Rajasekharan asked the students to develop the spirit of team work. He emphasised the need for logical reasoning and thinking, ambition and ability to work hard and smart as well.
Prof. Ramaswamy expressed the hope that the recognition would strengthen the ongoing academia-industry relationship in maximising students’ employability skills. Director (Academic), Dr. S.Vijayarangan and Training and Placement Officer, K.P.Dhanabalakrishnan spoke.
