Accused acquitted
KOLAR: Second Additional Sessions Judge (Prevention of Atrocities) Shivram on Friday acquitted all the 54 accused in the murder of three Dalits at Nagalapalli in Betamangal police limits in the district.
Yeshodamma and her sons Chandrashekhar and Dinesh were allegedly murdered on April 26, 2002, by a group of “caste” Hindus in the wake of a land dispute. Advocate Vasanth Reddy, Seethappa and Ramanand Reddy had been named prime accused, besides 51 others in the case.
The judge acquitted all citing failure of prosecution to prove allegations against the accused. — Staff Correspondent
