HYDERABAD: Five students, who allegedly robbed three persons recently at Laxminagar, were arrested by the Saroornagar police here on Friday.
All the arrested students were aged about 19 years. While M. Pradeep Kumar and P. Ravi Teja were studying intermediate, Muralikrishna Suheel and Mohd. Arthaf Khan were engineering students.
The fifth one G. Satish Kumar is a degree student.
Inspector N. Narsimha Reddy said the arrested students living in and around Saroornagar and got into bad vices.
They were looking out to secure money to satiate their desires.
They allegedly hatched a plot to commit robberies. On Tuesday last, Kumar and his four associates waylaid three persons and robbed them of their cash and two mobile phones.
While two of the victims were private company employees, the third was an engineering student.
] One of them noted down number of the motorbike Kumar used on the day of committing the robbery and informed to the police.
With this lead, the police traced the vehicle and rounded up Kumar based on whose confession the other four accused persons were arrested.
