Four naxals ‘killed’ in encounter

KHAMMAM: Four naxalites of the CPI-ML (Janashakti) were suspected to have been killed in an encounter with the police on the banks of the Kinnerasani river around 6.30 a.m. on Friday.

Bodies of all the four extremists fell into the river which is infested with crocodiles.

Divers engaged by the police fished out one body which was, they said, that of dalam commander Prakash.

A woman activist of the extremist group was also among those fallen into the river.

Police said that a short weapon and some kit bags were recovered from the spot.

It was the only dalam of the CPI-ML (Janashakti) operating in the district.
