Anchor’s quest to enter into record book begins

VISAKHAPATNAM: Her enthusiasm is undeterred though her eyes look weary after more than a day of non-stop anchoring.

B. Latha Choudhary, already an accomplished cine and television artist who has taken upon herself to present 50 hours of non-stop anchoring in quest of entry into ‘Limca Book of World Records’ is an inspiration for many youngsters.

Besides performing in many movies like Lakshmi Narsimha, Subbu, Adante Adhotype, and Nuvvunte Chalu, she has also acted in more than 500 tele-serials.

She has started anchoring her three-day non-stop pergramme on Thursday. She says, “It got little tough for me when the dew started falling on Thursday night. But I continued despite the fact that I have bronchitis as I had vowed. However, we moved inside a covered hall later.”

Many people have been thronging ‘Vyshakhi Jala Udyana Vanam’ where the programme is being held either to watch the spectacle or to participate in the various events that are part of the programme. Prominent personalities like Andhra University Vice-Chancellor L. Venugopal Reddy and Assistant Commissioner of Income Tax S. Ganesh visited the venue and encouraged Ms. Choudhary in her maiden attempt to enter into the record book..

Other attractions

‘Vishnusahastra Namam’, fashion show, mimicry, bhajans, devotional songs, comedy skits, dances, health tips, yoga singing and cooking competitions, which are part of the show have been attracting a large number of people.

‘Annamacharya Keerthanalu,’ dance competitions for juniors and seniors, cooking competitions, mimicry by Ramakrishna, comedy skits and prize distribution will be held on Saturday after the herculean task will conclude.
