Simi Mehra wins

NEW DELHI: Simi Mehra shot an even-par round of 72 to win the fourth leg of the DLF Women’s Professional Golf Tour by a huge margin of 16 strokes, at the Qutab Golf Course here on Friday.

Simi had a topsy-turvy front-nine after she opened with a birdie on the par-5 first hole. She went on to collect three bogies and a double bogey with a birdie in between to take the turn at three-over. On the home stretch, Simi played composed golf and shot three birdies to offset the damage and post a three-round total of 218.

Laverry Kumar won the amateur title after she posted 78 in the third and final round for a total of 231.

The scores: Simi Mehra (73, 73, 72) 218, Anjali Chopra (76, 78, 80) 234, Shalini Malik (74, 83, 79) 236, Preetinder Kaur (79, 83, 76) 238, Saaniya Sharma (84, 78, 80) 242, Pragya Misra (83, 86, 80) 249, Nikita Jadeja (83, 85, 82) 250.

Amateurs: Laverry Kumar (72, 81, 78) 231, Shweta Galande (79, 78, 78) and Nilini Singh (80, 76, 79) 235.
