Judit beats Hari

NEW DELHI: P. Hari Krishna surrendered to Judit Polgar 0.5-1.5 in the third round of the Blindfold World Cup semi-rapid chess tournament at Bilbao, Spain, on Thursday.

Hari lost the first game with white pieces in 36 moves of Nimzo Indian and later drew with black pieces in 55 moves of French Winawer. The defeat brought down Hari to the fifth spot.

The results (third round): Judit Polgar (Hun) bt P. Hari Krishna 1.5-0.5; Bu Xiangzhi (Chn) bt Veselin Topalov (Bul) 1.5-0.5; Magnus Carlsen (Nor) drew with Sergey Karjakin (Ukr) 1-1.

Points position: 1. Bu Xiangzhi (12), 2-4. Karjakin, Carlsen and Judit (8 each), 5. Hari (6), 6. Topalov (5).
