Air Arabia will jet into city daily

Staff Reporter

BANGALORE: Air Arabia, the first and the largest low-cost carrier in West Asia and North Africa, on Wednesday announced the commencement of daily operations between Bangalore and Sharjah on October 28.

The airline had commenced services on the Bangalore – Sharjah sector with four weekly flights from October 15 and for its winter schedule, it will operate daily flights.

Announcing the launch here on Thursday, Air Arabia’s Board Member and Chief Executive Officer Adel Ali said, “India is an important destination for us and we are happy to be given an opportunity to link more centres across India to the Middle East and beyond.”

From October 28, Air Arabia flight will depart Sharjah at 11.05 p.m., to reach Bangalore at 4.20 a.m., and in the return direction, the flight leaves Bangalore at 5.05 a.m., to arrive at Sharjah at 7.30 p.m.

The pricing is based on the time factor, and fares would be at least 30 per cent less than the fares of full-service carriers. If the booking is made two weeks prior to the journey, a round-trip (return ticket) could cost less than Rs. 10,000, including taxes.

Mr. Ali said, “By meeting the unique needs of customers in the region, low-cost carriers in this region can make a huge contribution to both the travel industry and the growth of the region as a whole. At Air Arabia, we are committed to extend our services to further serve the travel needs of customers in this part of the world.”

Air Arabia began its India operations with the launch of services to Mumbai in March 2005. Within two-and-a-half years the airline now connects nine Indian cities to the Middle East – Ahmedabad, Chennai, Jaipur, Kochi, Mumbai, Nagpur, Thiruvananthapuram, Coimbatore and Bangalore.

Holiday packages

The airline also offers Air Arabia Holidays which have exciting holiday promotions with mini breaks from the subcontinent to regions in the Middle East and North Africa. It offers package prices, including return flights, accommodation, transfers, daily breakfast and all hotel taxes and surcharges. For details, log on to www.airarabia.com.
