Mixed day for Merchant XI

MUMBAI: Vijay Merchant XI’s joy at grabbing an 80-run lead over Dattu Phadkar XI was shortlived as it lost four second innings wickets for just 24 runs in 11.4 overs at stumps on the second day of the four-day Sportstar Trophy second round under-19 MCA selection trial tournament here on Friday.

The scores: Vijay Merchant XI 261 & 24 for four vs. Dattu Phadkar XI 181 (Deepak Shetty 36, Yash Kulkarni 41; Pushkaraj Chavan six for 45).

Vijay Manjrekar XI 158 & 1 for no loss vs. Khandu Rangnekar XI 238 (Rohan Kerkar 55, Mangesh Vaity 27, Rohan Tendulkar 29; Nadeem Mehdi three for 29, Vinit Dhulap three for 44).
