Bharat Sanchar Sevak Padak presented

CHENNAI: V. Manoharan, regular mazdoor working in Southern Telecom region, Bharat Sanchar Nigam Limited, was recently conferred the Bharat Sanchar Sevak Padak award in recognition of his performance in maintenance of optical fibre cable network, particularly during natural disasters.

He was presented with the award by Union Minister for Communication and IT A. Raja at a function in New Delhi on Tuesday. The award, which comprises Rs. 1 lakh cash, a silver medal and citation, recognises the services of meritorious employees of the BSNL. The awardee was chosen from three lakh employees. Union Minister of State for Communication and IT Shakeel Ahmed presented the Best Telecom System and Best Customer Service Centre award. Chairman and managing director of BNSL Kuldeep Goyal and chairman of Telecom Commission and Secretary to the Department of Telecommunication D.S. Mathur participated.
