Kakinada: Goddess Aiyswaryambika, the presiding deity of the main temple at Sreepeetham ashram here, would don the avatar of Lord Srinivasa on October 22 . The special decoration to the Goddess is expected to attract over 1 lakh devotees from all over the district. On the lines of Tirumala temple each devotees will be presented with ‘Laddu Prasadam’. Briefing the newsmen about the significance of decorating the Goddess as Lord Srinivasa, Founder of the Sreepeetham, Swami Paripoornananda Saraswati said that Lord Venkateswera in Tirumala was embodiment of both god and goddess and there is no gender difference. In support of his statement, he cited the appearance of Kalasam on the Tirumala temple canopy instead of the traditional chakra and stone carved lions all along the temple’s outer wall. He said special laddu’s on lines of Tirupati prasadam with the same ingredients were being prepared for the last two days and after offering it to the deity, it would be presented to devotees on Monday. Swamiji said that the darshan would start at 6 p.m. on Monday and would continue throughout the night. Women devotees would be presented with turmeric and kumkum besides, a blouse piece as a gift from the goddess. Bhuvanesweri Vratham was performed at the Sreepeetham on Sunday on the occasion of Dasara, which was attended by nearly 15,000 couples. Maha annadana was also organised and prasadam was distributed to over 40,000 devotees.
