HASSAN: The former Minister and Gandsi MLA B. Shivaram has said that the Congress high command was against forging an alliance with the Janata Dal (Secular) to form the Government in the State. DelegationA delegation of MLAs had met Prithviraj Chauhan, in-charge of the party’s affairs in Karnataka, in Delhi on Friday, and apprised him of the political situation in the State after the resignation of H.D. Kumaraswamy. Speaking to The Hindu here on Saturday, Mr. Shivaram said the party high command had asked Congress MLAs and leaders to visit the villages to strengthen the party at the grass- root level. IAS officersAfter the arrival of the Prime Minister from his tour abroad, three senior IAS officers of the Secretary-level (one retired Chief Secretary and two senior Secretaries) would be sent to Bangalore to assist the Governor, he said. Mr. Shivaram claimed that former Prime Minister H.D. Deve Gowda, during his recent visit to Delhi, had tried to meet Congress leader Ahmed Patel, who was away in Gujarat.
