Widespread rainfall in Virudhunagar district

VIRUDHUNAGAR: The district has registered widespread rainfall in the last two days.

Virudhunagar recorded the highest rainfall of 62 mm followed by Srivilliputtur (36 mm) in 24 hours till 8.30 a.m. on Saturday. During the same period, Pilavakkal dam recorded 20 mm, followed by Watrap - 11.8, Sattur - 10.4, Rajapalayam - 8, Tiruchuzhi and Sivakasi – 3 each, Kariyapatti – 2 and Aruppukottai - 1.

The rainfall recorded in various places (in mm) in the last 24 hours till 8.30 a.m. on Sunday: Tiruchuzhi - 19, Aruppukottai - 16, Kariyapatti - 6.8, Virudhunagar - 6.1, Sivakasi - 3.6, Srivilliputtur and Sattur - 2.2 mm each, and Watrap - 2.
