To begin from mid-November To be of three-month duration NEW DELHI: The Department of Adult, Continuing Education and Extension at Delhi University will launch short-term courses during the current academic session. Approved by Vice-Chancellor Deepak Pental, the Department will conduct eight courses beginning mid-November. The courses are: Science and Sports Journalism; Counselling and Guidance; Travel and Tourism; Psychological Assessment for Competency Building; Forensic Probing; Volunteer Management; Public Interest Litigation and Physiotherapy and Sports Medicine. All the courses will be of three-month duration each with a fee structure of Rs.1,500. Any person having passed Class XII can apply for the course, the last date for which is October 30. The classes will be held twice a week during the afternoon after the regular classes. “We are not restricting the courses to Delhi University students only. Any working person or student can take up the course. Our programmes are different from the add-on curses being run by different colleges. There will be more emphasis on the practical component. At least one-third of the course will be devoted to practicals. Besides, our fee is also very low,” said Head of the Department N. K. Chadha.
