Gandhiji’s role in promoting global peace hailed

ARIYALUR: The effective role played by Mahatma Gandhi in promoting global peace was highlighted by speakers at a function to mark the International Day of Non-violence, valediction of the Gandhi Jayanthi Week and the district youths renaissance day held here recently.

The function held at the Government Higher Secondary School here was organised by the Peramablur district unit of the Nehru Yuva Kendra. Project Officer, Mahalir Thittam, Ramasamy recalled how the Mahatma mesmerised the mighty British regime by launching the ahimsa movement.
