ANANTAPUR: Contract sanitation workers of the Anantapur Municipal Corporation went on alms seeking on Sunday, protesting non-payment of their salaries for the last four months. They also took out a procession under the aegis of Municipal Udyoga Karmika Sangham affiliated to CITU. Led by CITU district president M. Imtiaz, town leaders J. Krishnamurthy and R.V. Naidu the municipal contract workers went door to door on alms seeking from Gooty Road circle in the Old Town to Umanagar, where Mayor R. Parasuram resides. Later, they took out a procession to Sapthagiri Circle ‘presented’ their representation to the Rajiv Gandhi statue after garlanding it.
