Crackers sales target pegged at Rs. 1 crore

TIRUCHI: The Chinthamani Cooperative Supermarket at Puthur here has fixed a cracker sales target of Rs. One crore for the Deepavali festival.
The authorities have planned to establish 10 special sales outlets in various areas to sell popular brands of fireworks.
Transport Minister K.N. Nehru inaugurated the cracker sale at the supermarket on Sunday.
A sales target of Rs. 35 crore has been fixed for the supermarket during the current financial year and the achievement during the half-year stood at Rs. 19 crore. Special arrangements have been made for sale of essential commodities such as sugar, dhal, rava, maida, dalda and edible oil at the supermarket.
