ARIYALUR: The Tamil Nadu Cement Workers’ Federation affiliated to the All-India Trade Union Congress on Sunday urged the State government to increase the bonus for employees of Arasu Cements here, owned by the Tamil Nadu Cement Corporation, from the present 10 to 25 per cent.
In a statement here, federation secretary T. Dhandapani said the factory had been netting profit since its inception in 1979. Though the factory had not been modernised, it earned a profit of Rs.13 crore. Among all the undertakings of the Corporation, Arasu Cements accounted for the largest margin of profit. .He said steps should be taken for modernisation of the factory. .”
