Workshop held for national green corps

ARANTHANGI: A day-long workshop for the benefit of Environment and National Green Corps coordinators of schools in Aranthangi education district was held at Government Higher Secondary School, Aranthangi, recently.

School Headmaster Aurangzeb presided and coordinator of Environment and National Green Corps of Aranthangi education district, A. Arangan inaugurated the programme.

In his address, he explained the importance of conducting awareness programme on increasing the forest cover and maintaining the ecology.

He said green days should be celebrated in all schools.

He gave away a subsidy of Rs.2,500 to the schools for conducting awareness programmes and distributed rosewood tree saplings to the Maramadakki Government HSS.
