Foreign delegates visit Mayor of Kochi

KOCHI: Representatives of Cardiff and Leicester City councils have offered support to the Kochi Corporation in its attempts to evolve a solid-waste treatment system. The offer came when the delegates from these councils visited Mayor Mercy Williams. Deputy Mayor C.K. Manisankar was present.

The council representatives reached Kochi to participate in the Commonwealth Local Government Good Practice Scheme Dissemination Seminar.

The Leicester City council delegation included Mark Mizen, Andy Keeling, Daxa Pacholi, Kuldipp Singh Batti and Manjula Paul Sood.

The Cardiff council was represented by Julian Stedman.

The two-day seminar will begin here on Tuesday.

Delegates from London Borough Newham, Birmingham City Council, Amenfi District Municipality and Indian municipalities will reach the city. Nearly 15 mayors are also expected to participate in the two-day conference.
