The Tamil Mandram of Government Boys Higher Secondary School, Jalakandapuram, near Salem, organised a ‘pattimandram’ recently. The programme was organised to highlight various problems faced by women and factors hindering their development. School Headmaster R. Mohankumar presided over the meeting. Post-graduate Tamil teacher Padmanaban among others participated.
Science exhibition
The talents of students came to the fore in the science exhibition organised by the Kongunadu Matriculation Higher Secondary School, Velagoundampatti in Namakkal district, recently.
The operation of hydraulic lift, displayed by student Ranjani, and the working model of a windmill, exhibited by Devanath and Bharani attracted more visitors. The food chain, exhibited by A.P. Jeevitha and R. Theynisha and zoological park by Bharanidharan, auto-signal on roads and solar system were other notable models displayed at the exhibition.
Karthick, Sivakumar and Gokul demonstrated the volcanic eruption. R. Nandhini, a Standard IV student, exhibited a picture made of seeds, depicting various plants and animals.
Kindergarten students celebrated ‘Balloon Day.’ They decorated their classrooms with colourful balloons. The event was organised to make learning a joyful activity.
Winners
The Golden Gates Matriculation Higher Secondary School teams won the Salem educational district-level basketball tournament both in junior and senior categories.
School Correspondent Meena Sethu, principal V. Kanchana and Physical Education Director Thiruvel congratulated the members of the teams.
