MAHABUBNAGAR: Dasara was celebrated with pomp and gaiety here on Sunday. The utsav committee organised several programmes in the past three days in the town. Deva Yagnam was conducted in the morning at the Arya Samaj premises.
A procession led by Valakonda Prabhulingam was taken out in the evening at Dwajadhari. Members of Gouli Baburao Hanuman Vyayamshala donning the get-up of mythological characters, including Krishna, Rama, Lakshmana, Seeta, Hanuman and Bharath Matha attracted people. The utsav procession was marked by Kolatam, bursting of crackers and singing of bhajans.
Elite of the town participated in the procession which culminated in a public meeting at ZP mini-stadium.
