VIZIANAGARAM: Regional Joint Commissioner (Endowments) S. Kondala Rao, while expressing satisfaction over the arrangements made for the ‘Sirimanotsavam’, said on Monday that steps were taken to supply quality ‘prasadam’ to devotees and also coconuts at Rs. 5 each. GuidelinesIf any one found violating the guidelines, the Endowments Department would open special counters for supply of coconuts, he said at a press conference. With regard to the row over issuing free entry passes to some influential persons, he said that the Endowments Department had nothing to do with it as the Revenue Department was issuing the passes. Temple Executive Officer P.V. Subba Lakshmi said that ‘hundis’ would be opened for counting on Wednesday. Tholellu‘Tholellu’ of Sri Pydithalli Ammavaru was celebrated here on Monday. Amidst beating of drums, women in large numbers carried ‘ghatas’ (pots with turmeric water and neem leaves) to the temple and offered prayers to the goddess. Prayers offeredIn the morning, hereditary trustees of the temple -- P. Ananda Gajapathi Raju and P. Ashok Gajapathi Raju -- along with other members of their families offered silk clothes and offered prayers at the temple. The temple priests and endowment officials received them with ‘poorna khumbam’.
