Government for more qazis

HYDERABAD: The State Government has decided to increase the number of qazis, particularly in Hyderabad and Ranga Reddy districts. Chief Minister Y.S. Rajasekhara Reddy, who reviewed the matter with Minorities Welfare department officials on Monday, approved, in principle, the appointment. The Government would, convene a meeting of the MLAs hailing from Muslim community before taking a final decision and the matter would be submitted to the court for its approval.
