dated October 24, 1957 (there being no issue of the paper dated October 23): Explosions in Saigon

Three bombs exploded in Saigon on October 22, injuring 13 Americans and five local civilians. The explosions disturbed the calm of the 21-nation Colombo Plan talks on economic aid for Asia now in progress in Saigon, but Vietnamese officials believed the bombs were directed against the Americans and not the conference. Two of the 13 injured Americans were in a critical condition. Nine others were seriously injured, and the remaining two only slightly hurt. Eight of them were evacuated by air to a military hospital in the Philippines.
