Codava national council plans satyagraha

NEW DELHI: The Codava National Council has planned to stage a satyagraha here on October 31 in support of its long standing demand for forming an autonomous region for the community , with conferment of the status of primitive ethno linguistic minority tribal and inclusion of the Codava language in the 8th Schedule of the Constitution. Secretary general of the Council, N.U. Nachappa Codava, said the race needs to be recognised as a unique nationality and given internal self-determination rights.
