POSCO won’t shift project: Naveen
Special Correspondent
BHUBANESWAR: Korean steel major POSCO has no plan to shift its steel project from Orissa’s Jagatsinghpur district, Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik said on Monday.
Talking to presspersons here, he said POSCO authorities had told him, at a meeting in New Delhi last week, that they were positive about executing the project. His government would provide support for implementation of the project, involving the highest foreign investment in the country.
On the POSCO Pratirodh Sangram Samiti, which is opposing the project, rejecting his offer for a dialogue, Mr. Patnaik reiterated that he was ready to talk to anyone for a practical and peaceful solution to the problem of displacement.
