Prathosh, Amal bowl well

Thiruvananthapuram: Thiruvananthapuram and Kollam took first innings leads against Alappuzha and Kottayam as the South Zone under-17 inter-district cricket tournament between these teams ended in a draw.

Prathosh took five for 15 as Thiruvananthapuram bundled out Alappuzha for 113 runs after scoring 247 in its first innings. Amal Alex did the star turn for Kollam with an incisive spell (six for 30) as Kottayam, in reply to Kollam’s first innings total of 197, was dismissed for 150 runs.

Both Thiruvananthapuram and Kollam got two points each for the first innings lead.

The scores: Thiruvananthapuram 247 in 56.2 overs (Ali Asgar 87, Tomy Alexander 56) drew with Alappuzha 113 in 56 overs (Ratish 44, Prathosh five for 15)

Kollam 195 in 61.4 overs (Akshay Kodoth 60, Deepan Raj 40, Ansaf four for 41) & 121 for four in 31 overs (Akshay Kodoth 55) drew with Kottayam 150 in 55 overs (Bijilal 50, Amal Alex six for 30).
