Spreading awareness

BHUBANESWAR: When lakhs of people visited puja pandals to see the decorated idols of deity Durga near puja pandals, an NGO, Vandemataram, used the forum to spread awareness on AIDS depicting Ravan, the demon king in the Ramayan as the dreaded disease.

A street play, Ravanara Seshakhata, was organised near different puja pandal with an objective to inform teenagers about ill-effects of AIDS on the society. The play was enjoyed by people who had come to different puja pandals in the capital city.
