Police Martyrs’ Day observed

Chamarajanagar: Deputy Conservator of Forests, Chamarajanagar Wildlife Division, Raju, recalled the sacrifice made by policemen who laid down their lives while serving the nation this year, on the occasion of Police Martyrs’ Day observed on Sunday.

He was speaking after laying a wreath at the Police Parade Ground here. Superintendent of Police Srikantappa inaugurated a martyrs’ statue and laid a wreath at the police memorial. He said that 726 policemen died in the course of duty this year in the country. Two minutes’ silence was observed in their memory. Three rounds were fired in the air to mark the occasion.
