DEHRA DUN: The higher Himalayan shrine of Kedarnath will close for the winter on November 11. Similarly the Badrinath shrine will close on November 16, a spokesman of the Shri Badrinath- Shri Kedarnath Temple Committee announced on Monday. Over five lakh pilgrims visited Kedarnath this yatra season — an increase of nearly three lakh since 2001. The number of pilgrims to the higher Himalayan shrines is likely to go up further in the coming years , the official said.
